IPXX codes look cryptic until you split them: the first digit runs from no protection up to dust-tight, the second from drips up to sustained immersion. An enclosure's rating tells you exactly what environment it can live in — and what it can't.
Electricians meet everywhere: outdoor sockets, bathroom zones, downlights in shower ceilings, dusty workshops. Exam questions usually hand you a location and ask for the digits, or hand you digits and ask what survives there.
