18th Edition Mock Exam 3
Premium paperC&G 2382-26 format · 60 questions · 120 minutes · 60% pass · open book
Paper 3 of the 18th Edition mocks: a final full-length rehearsal, 60 questions in 120 minutes, open book. Sit it in the week before your exam date.
Paper 3 is the dress rehearsal. Sit it at the time of day your exam is booked, at a clear desk, with the book you will actually take in — a borrowed copy you have never tabbed is a slower book. The point is to make exam day feel like a repeat of something you have already done.
The Amendment 4 ground is in here the way it is in the other two, because it is the newest material and the part your older revision guide is silent on: electrical energy storage systems, functional earthing and bonding networks for ICT installations, and Power over Ethernet as a real distribution system with real heating effects.
Review discipline afterwards matters more than the score. For every question you missed, find the requirement in the book and note the Part and Chapter rather than the fact — on an open-book paper, knowing where to look is the transferable skill.
- Full-paper exam pacing
- Protection for safety and selection and erection
- Inspection, testing, special locations and Amendment 4:2026

A few of the 60. Marking stays inside the app — sit the paper to see how you did and what to revise.
Q1.Functional earthing differs from protective earthing in that it exists primarily to…
- provide a fault current path for disconnection
- support the proper operation of equipment
- replace main protective bonding
- reduce the prospective fault current
Q2.Why does a large bundle of energised Power over Ethernet cables need consideration at design stage?
- The data rate falls with bundle size
- Heat builds in the centre of the bundle
- The cables become extraneous-conductive-parts
- The supply frequency shifts
Q3.Equipment with a high protective conductor current requires which additional measure?
- A second consumer unit
- A high-integrity protective conductor arrangement and a warning label
- Isolation by a locked enclosure
- Supply through a 30 mA RCD only
Q4.Which Chapter of BS 7671 covers earthing arrangements and protective conductors?
- Chapter 41
- Chapter 52
- Chapter 54
- Chapter 55
Q5.A PME (TN-C-S) earthing facility is not permitted to be exported to which of these?

- What is actually in the Amendment 4 material?
- Amendment 4:2026 brings the regulations up to date with technology that is now routine on site: battery and energy storage systems in prosumer installations, functional earthing and bonding networks for ICT equipment, and Power over Ethernet. Six of the sixty questions in each paper come from that ground.
