Open time

How long spread adhesive stays sticky enough to bed a tile into.

After the open time the adhesive skins over, and a tile pressed into it won't bond properly. Warm, dry or windy rooms shorten it.

Touch the adhesive: if it doesn't come away on your fingertip, scrape it off and spread fresh.
